Why San Diego restaurants choose us as their wholesale bakery

San Diego Baking Company is a wholesale bakery: we bake for cafés, restaurants, hotels, caterers and grocers, and nothing else. There’s no retail counter competing for the morning bake, so every loaf, bagel and pastry is made for a professional kitchen and delivered seven days a week.

Six reasons kitchens work with us

  1. Baked here, delivered daily

Our bakehouse is in the heart of San Diego, and wholesale delivery runs seven days a week. Orders arrive on time, before service, so weekend kitchens get fresh bread too.

  2. Slow bread, small batches

Naturally leavened breads, bagels and buns, baked in small batches for flavor and a crumb that holds up on the line.

  3. One supplier, one delivery

Sandwich breads, bagels, buns, pastries, cookies and whole cakes on one order, across 20 categories in our wholesale menu.

  4. Wholesale is all we do

Our production and delivery schedule is built around cafés, restaurants and grocers, not walk-in customers.

  5. Custom menus

Need a bun for one signature dish, or a pastry case planned from scratch? We’ll work out sizes, finishes and a lineup around your menu.

  6. Start when you’re ready

Switching suppliers this week or planning a launch months out? Tell us your timing when you get in touch and we’ll plan around it.

Frequently asked questions

Can I buy bread at your bakery?

We’re strictly wholesale, with no retail counter or public opening hours. If you’ve enjoyed our bread at a café or restaurant, ask them where to find more.

Do you work with restaurants that haven’t opened yet?

Yes. Tell us your opening timeline in the inquiry form and we can plan your bread and pastry lineup ahead of launch.

Can you make a product for one dish on my menu?

Often, yes. Send a custom-menu inquiry describing the dish and we’ll suggest a size, shape or finish.
